Welcome to the Village of Elberta, Michigan
The Village of Elberta is a quaint little community in Northwest Michigan, located at the western most edge of Benzie County on the southern rim of Betsie Bay.
Elberta is a paradise for fishing and boating enthusiasts. Its natural harbor allows easy access to Lake Michigan for fishing and pleasure boating. Its marinas play host to yachts men from all over the United States.
Because of its location on Betsie Bay the Village was once the home for the Ann Arbor Railroad Marine Terminal which utilized the channel from Lake Michigan to the Betsie Bay's harbor.
This channel served as the transportation life blood of the community from 1892 until 1982 when the railway and it's transportation link to the western shores of Lake Michigan was abandoned.
Today, the Village is poised for growth and a rebirth of commerce.
